Union Research Center of Online Measurement Technology for Five-Axis CNC Machine Tools was founded in Central Taiwan Science Park on November 18, 2014.

In order to make MIT machine tools more worldwide competitive, this research center is initiated by National Chung Hsing University, Institute for Information Industry, Fair Friend Ent. Group and Quaser Machine tools Inc..

“In the future, Center for Measurement Standards, National Chin-Yi University of Technology, National Changhua University of Education and Feng Chia University will be invited to join this union,” said Jun-Liang Lin, the vice president of National Chung Hsing University. “It will lead the development of precision machinery and equipments in the central region.”

The center will integrate research resources to “High-speed on line precision calibration technology of five-axis CNC machine tools” and “The whole multi-point thermal displacement measurement and thermal analysis techniques,” as the focus of development. It will establish the key technique of thermal analysis and makes Taiwan Machine tools Industry global leader brand.

Fair Friend Ent. Group (FFG) consists of four major divisions of businesses and 41 factories are scattered over 9 countries. “We have worked on machine tool business in the related fields for years; therefore, we know the importance of the Online Measurement Technology for Five-Axis Machine Tools. We are not only the part of theUnionResearchCenter, but also found the research headquarter of FFG here in centralTaiwanSciencePark,” CEO Xu said. “FFG will show 12 Five-Axis Machine Tools including 10 from its constituent companies, Leadwell and Fair Friend, in the 25th Taipei International Machine Tool Show on March,2015”

“We have aimed to machine tools measurement technology for 15 years. Now we have Prof. Liu’s help, I believe it will make the quality of our products even better,” the CEO Xie Ramu of Quaser Machine tools Inc. said.

By the connection of all resources of industry, academia and the government, it will accelerate development of machine tools. In the future, Institute for Information Industry will spend more on research and development for the union center.

Professor Liu of National Chung Hsing University said,” it’s a research trend towards Online Measurement Technology for Five-Axis Machine Tools. If we can enhance accuracy of measurement, it will make MIT machine tools more competitive in the world.”

Under the guidance of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Institute for Information Industry executed “2014 Industrial value-added service platform-aware intelligence research plan”, and set up the “Advanced five-axis machine tools Online CNC Measurement technology union research and development center” together with industry and academia.
